Southern rapper Khia recently shared her views on the state of hip-hop and said she is looking to move beyond rap and venture into singing.

The rapper feels hip-hop has lost its essence and is merely about looks.

“I’m kind of bored with hip-hop. I’ve done everything that I really wanted to do. I’m not really getting into the hip-hop stuff because it’s more about the drama than it is about the talent,” she tells VIBE about going in a new direction musically. “It’s more about the look and the images and all of that instead of about the art and I’m not really into that. The World Cup concluded Sunday afternoon in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Andres Iniesta scored with four minutes of extra time remaining Sunday to give Spain a deserved 1-0 win over the Netherlands and a first World Cup title. With the teams facing a penalty shootout in a game of few clear chances, Iniesta collected a sliding pass into the area from substitute Cesc Fabregas and smashed the ball across goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg and in at the far post. The goal ended an often ill-tempered match and made Spain only the third team to be world and European champion at the same time. (Fox News)

G-Unit leader 50 Cent was attacked by a fan during a recent live performance in Brazil while performing with Lloyd Banks.

Based on footage and reports, the fan came after 50 during his “Ayo Technology” set.

Although 50 Cent’s been in recent headlines for his verbal assaultson Diddy, it looks like the tables have turned now that a crazed fan tried to physically attack him in Brazil. 50 Cent was performing a concert in Salvador, Bahia when a fan suddenly rushed the stage and grabbed him from behind. The fan’s moment of glory was short lived however after Fif’s security jumped to his rescue, grabbing the man and escorting him off stage, punching and kicking him in the process. (Hip Hop Wired)

One day after Suge Knight was released from jail last week, the rap mogul allegedly masterminded a murder plot … this according to legal documents. An L.A. County Superior Court judge has ordered Suge to stay at least 100 yards away from a Los Angeles area man after an allegedly frightening encounter this past Friday. According to legal docs filed Monday, the man claims Suge “had 8 guys come to my house and told them to get me or kill me.”

The government declared a state of emergency as sporadic gunshots rang out in gritty West Kingston, stronghold of Christopher “Dudus” Coke, a Jamaican “don” charged in the U.S. with drug and arms trafficking. His defiant supporters turned his Tivoli Gardens neighborhood and other areas into a virtual fortress with trashed cars and barbed wire.

Four police stations came under heavy fire from gangsters roaming the streets with high-powered guns. In barricaded Hannah Town, close to Tivoli Gardens, black smoke spiraled into the sky from one that was set aflame by molotov cocktails.

Officers fled the burning station in impoverished West Kingston, where a 2001 standoff between gunmen and security forces killed 25 civilians as well as a soldier and a constable.

Authorities said two security officers had been wounded by Sunday night.

Police said the attacks were unprovoked. It called for all “decent and law-abiding citizens” in the troubled areas to immediately evacuate their homes and said security forces would ferry them out safely.

Police Commissioner Owen Ellington said “scores of criminals” from gangs across the Caribbean island had traveled to West Kingston to join the fight. “It is now clear that criminal elements are determined to launch coordinated attacks on the security forces,” he said.

In a gritty section of the capital of an island known more for reggae and all-inclusive resorts, the violence erupted after nearly a week of rising tensions over the possible extradition of Coke to the United States.

Prime Minister Bruce Golding had stalled the extradition request for nine months with claims the U.S. indictment relied on illegal wiretap evidence. After Golding reversed himself amid growing public discontent over his opposition, Coke’s supporters began barricading streets and preparing for battle.

Before Sunday’s shooting started, police urged the neighborhood boss to surrender, calling the heavy barricades encircling his slum stronghold a sign of “cowardice.”
